October 2004 - Worked during the legislative special session with House leadership to write and pass legislation to fix Governor Fletcher's failed health insurance plan. | |

2004 -filed suit to force the Fletcher Administration to honor the 5% annual increment statute in the absence of a state budget. | |

Retained the 5% annual salary increase during six (6) of the eight (8) years of the Patton administration. | |

Won passage of the Kentucky Whistleblower Act. | |

Fought against the Jones Administration “Mega Pool” Health Care reform legislation. | |

Filed suit against the Patton Administration’s action to eliminate the Kentucky KARE Health Insurance program. | |

Filed a friend of the court suit against the Patton Administrations raid on the retirement systems funds. | |

Fought against the SCR 69 recommendations to change funding of the retirement system. | |

Defeated the 1992 merit system reform “Ripper” bill. | |

Defeat of the “Hay Classification Plan.” This bill would have permanently eliminated the employee 5% salary increase and would have caped employee salaries and retirement contributions. | |

Helped pass a new fairer appeal system for ATC teachers. | |

Fought successfully to win ATC employees the ability to take up to 6 college hours, without charge, at any state post-secondary institution. | |

Assisted thousands of Kentucky merit system employees in filing grievances and Personnel Board appeals. | |

Spends almost $100,000 in legal fees each year defending the rights of state merit employees. | |

Helped social workers in Georgetown get moved from their run down office building into a professional facility. | |

Regularly works with Kentucky OSHA to make sure state employees work in safe buildings and in a safe environment. |
